Globalstar Rental Coverage Area
The Globalstar rental phone works only in the Continental United States. It does not work on the Oceans or the Caribbean, or any other country. Think about an iridium phone if Globalstar coverage is not available in the area you need service. Note: You can not take this phone to Cuba, North Korea or India without government permission.
What’s The Difference Between The Phone Models?
The Globalstar GSP-1600 is the oldest and largest of the Globalstar phones. If you are planning to carry this phone in a backpack, this is not the best choice. Take a look at the smaller and lighter Globalstar 1700.
What About Airtime?
TheGlobalstar GSP-1600 phone rental requires a minimum airtime block purchase of 50 minutes. Any airtime used after the airtime block will be billed after the phone is returned at the standard rate of $1.49/ minute.
Globalstar phone are no capable of sending text messages. Incoming texts are possible. There is no charge for incoming texts.
How Do I Make Calls To The Satellite Phone?
Our Globalstar phones have standard US phone numbers. To call the phone, simply dial 1+sat phone number, from inside the USA.
How Do I Return The Phone?
A return label is purchased at the time of rental. Place this label on the return package and give the package to Fedex. Get a receipt. Phones can only be return shipped from a USA location. Using the supplied return label outside of the USA will result in a lost phone and the customer will be responsible for buying Globalcom a replacement.
